Job Description

Were looking for experienced developers who can work independently on websites which may have inconsistent or complex behavior. Ability to think critically, research edge cases, and apply fixes that are both accurate and durable across varied site structures.

Key Skills

Familiarity with Typescript, JQuery, and APIs
Strong understanding/ ability to learn WCAG, ARIA, and screen reader behaviors.
Proficient in JavaScript, DOM manipulation, and event handling
Able to troubleshoot and debug site-specific issues creatively
Some familiarity with modular component frameworks (React, Angular, etc.) - will not be applying but helpful to understand
Comfortable reading and applying framework documentation and W3C specifications
Proactively identifies when a fix may break on other pages/components and adjusts scope accordingly
Understands performance concerns (e.g., minimizing element queries, avoiding expensive DOM operations)
Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills and ability to investigate beyond surface-level automated testing or tester-reported findings to accurately identify the root cause of accessibility issues and determine effective, standard-based solutions.
Soft Skills
Self-directed learner who can handle ambiguity
Communicates blockers or risks clearly and early
Suggests tool/process improvements where needed
Typical Tasks
Write and test DOM-based custom fixes
Collaborate with QA to resolve nuanced accessibility criteria
Debug and report tooling related bugs
