Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Grafana Developer to design, build, and optimize advanced dashboards for enterprise-scale monitoring and observability platforms. The role focuses on delivering actionable visualizations, enabling self-service monitoring, and supporting thousands of application teams through standardized, performant dashboards across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Grafana dashboards for infrastructure, application, network, and business metrics.

Integrate Grafana with multiple data sources such as:

Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor

Develop templated and reusable dashboards to support self-service monitoring at scale.

Optimize dashboard performance for high-cardinality and high-volume metrics/logs.

Implement alerts, annotations, and variables aligned with SRE and operational best practices.

Collaborate with platform, SRE, and application teams to translate monitoring requirements into effective visualizations.

Enforce dashboard standards, naming conventions, and guardrails.

Automate dashboard provisioning using Grafana APIs, JSON models, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines.

Support role-based access control (RBAC) and folder structures for large enterprises.

Troubleshoot data gaps, query inefficiencies, and visualization issues.

Document dashboards and onboard application teams to Grafana self-service.

Required Skills

Core Grafana Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Grafana (OSS or Enterprise)

Expertise in:

Dashboard JSON models

Variables, transformations, annotations

Alerting (Unified Alerting preferred)

Query & Data Skills

Strong knowledge of PromQL

Experience with LogQL, SPL, or Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) is a plus

Ability to write efficient, optimized queries for large datasets

Observability & Monitoring

Solid understanding of:

Metrics, logs, traces

SLI/SLO/SLA concepts

Golden Signals (latency, traffic, errors, saturation)

Experience working in enterprise monitoring platforms

Automation & DevOps

Experience with:

REST APIs

Terraform or Infrastructure as Code

Git-based workflows and CI/CD

Familiarity with Kubernetes monitoring is a plus

Good to Have

Experience supporting 1000+ application teams or large enterprises

Knowledge of AIOps or event correlation tools (IBM AIOps, OpsGenie, ServiceNow)

Multi-cloud monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Experience with logging cost optimization and high-volume telemetry

Grafana Plugin development (React/TypeScript) – optional
