Frontend Engineer (Remote, GBR) About The Role: As a Senior Front-End Engineer at CrowdStrike, you will work with a talented and dedicated team to build and maintain the user interface for the Falcon platform You will provide a high quality user experience that our customers around the world use 24/7 to protect their systems from the most sophisticated adversaries. About The Team: Youll join the Falcon Foundry group, working on enhancing and extending our cybersecurity focused cloud marketplace that allows CrowdStrike's customers and partners to build and share apps You'll collaborate closely with UX designers and QA to maintain a consistent user experience across all our products, as well as product management and backend engineers to establish product specifications and features Our ideal candidate will be responsible for taking full ownership of the delivery of our products, driving the technical aspects, helping the team to define the architecture and coordinating with stakeholders in terms of scope and priorities. What Youll Do: Build and maintain single page web applications written in JavaScript using Ember.js Lead major initiatives and coordinate with product leadership while collaborating with fellow Front-End Engineers, Cloud Engineers, UX Designers, Technical Writers, User Researchers, QA Analysts, and others Participate in the code review process for your own code and that of your fellow Front-End Engineers, holding yourself and your peers accountable to high standards Take initiative and build tools that improve your teams development experience Write automated tests for your code Mentor other engineers and help them grow in their skills and career Continually learn about the ever-evolving challenges and complexities of the cybersecurity industry Have fun solving hard problems What Youll Need: A desire to collaborate closely with users, designers, & testers to deliver quality software that solves problems. A deep understanding of Javascript and considerable experience building thick-client applications with modern frameworks such as Ember, AngularJS, Backbone or React/Flux. Experience with testing frameworks, tools and methodologies such as QUnit, Mocha & Selenium. Functional knowledge & interest in developing genuinely accessible interfaces. Strong HTML & CSS skills, with bonus points for experience with animation, knowledge of approaches to scalable/modular CSS, & preprocessors such as SCSS & LESS. Familiarity with client-side build processes & tools git, yarn, npm, Ember CLI etc Comfortable with Git/version control workflows. Bonus Points: Experience creating or contributing to open source projects. Experience with graphics & visualization tools such as D3 or ThreeJS. Interest & experience with design & data visualization. Experience with coaxing that last frame-per-second out of browsers. Experience with web accessibility testing and support. What You'll Do: Design, develop, extend, and maintain automation frameworks, tools and scripts to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of testing, with a particular focus on performance, stress and longevity testing. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for the automation and testing processes to optimize software development, testing and release workflows. Review engineering technical design documents and requirements Provide plan and strategy on how and where to build in testability. Lead comprehensive testing efforts on all three major platformsWindows, Mac and Linux to ensure consistent and reliable performance across different operating systems. Contribute to existing tools, frameworks and related solutions. Collaborate with teams to expand the scope of test coverage. Leverage knowledge of cloud services and containerization to create and manage testing environments, ensuring they are efficient, scalable and aligned with best practices. Oversee testing for system reliability and scalability, ensuring that performance and quality standards are met and proactively identifying areas of improvement. Ability to create and maintain test infrastructure Build the frameworks and packages required to implement automation. Mentor and lead the automation team, providing guidance, support and opportunities for growth, while fostering high-performing team culture. What You'll Need: A computer science background or equivalent 10+ years of experience (programming styles, data structures, algorithms, etc.). Exposure in cross-platform testing to ensure consistent performance, reliability and scalability across different operating system. Experience with any/all of the following: Python, C++, Groovy, Bash, PowerShell. Proficient with Networking: protocols, distributed systems, layered architectures. Knowledge of cloud services and containerization technologies. Web Services: JSON, REST, RPC, XML, AWS EC2 & S3. Strong debugging skills: ability to spot design flaws, race conditions and performance bottlenecks in complex architectures. Prior application, OS, web browser or hardware compatibility testing. Computer and/or network security experience/understanding. Bonus Points: Authored and/or lead successful open-source libraries and projects. Contributions to the open-source community (GitHub, Stack Overflow, blogging). Exposure to Go, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, GRPC, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins.
