Job Description

Job Title: Front Office Assistant

Location: Trivandrum, Kerala
Department: Front Office / Guest Relations
Reports To: Front Office Manager / Duty Manager

Job Summary

The Front Office Assistant is responsible for providing efficient, courteous, and professional service to guests during check-in, stay, and check-out. The role ensures smooth front office operations, maintains guest satisfaction, and upholds the service standards of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities Guest Services

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and ensure a smooth check-in and check-out process.
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and courteously.
  • Provide information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions in and around Trivandrum.
  • Assist with transportation arrangements, tour bookings, and other concierge services.

Front Office Operations

  • Operate the Property Management System (PMS) for reservations, billing, and guest record updates.
  • Manage room assignments, key control, and maintain accurate occupancy data.
  • Ensure all check-in/check-out formalities and billing procedures are completed accurately.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance departments for room readiness and service requests.

  • Communication & Coordination
  • Handle telephone calls, emails, and messages efficiently and professionally.
  • Maintain a daily log of guest feedback, incidents, and operational updates.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth hotel operations.

Cashiering & Billing

  • Handle cash, credit card, and other payment transactions accurately.
  • Prepare daily reports, summaries, and cash tallies as required.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
  • +2 ./ Diploma / degree with experience in relevant field

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of front office or customer service experience in a hotel or hospitality setting (experience in a 3-star or similar facility preferred).

Skills:

  • Excellent communication in English and Malayalam (Hindi/Tamil an added advantage).
  • Proficient in MS Office and hotel PMS software preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation, grooming, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Pleasant personality, courteous demeanor, and attention to detail.

Work Schedule

  • Rotational shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Flexible to work early mornings, evenings, or night shifts as per hotel operations.

Remuneration

  • Competitive salary as per industry standards, with additional benefits such as meals, uniforms, and incentives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
