About The Opportunity
A clinical outpatient provider in the Eye Care / Ophthalmology sector, delivering general ophthalmic services and primary eye-care to urban and peri-urban populations. The role is embedded in a busy OPD setting focused on diagnosis, medical management, refractive services and minor procedures for patients across all age groups in the Bangalore region.Location: Doddaballapur (near Yelahanka), Bangalore On-site, Full-time.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive OPD consultations: history-taking, slit-lamp exam, refraction, tonometry and fundoscopy to diagnose common anterior/posterior segment conditions.
- Prescribe and manage medical therapies, spectacles and optical referrals; provide clear patient counseling on treatment plans and follow-ups.
- Perform basic ocular procedures in OPD (foreign-body removal, minor lid procedures, bandage contact lens placement) and assist in minor laser procedures if trained.
- Coordinate diagnostic workflowsorder and interpret B-scan, visual fields and routine investigations; liaise with optometry and diagnostic teams for timely patient care.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in EMR and ensure compliance with infection control and clinical governance protocols.
- Participate in outreach screening camps, patient education initiatives and occasional weekend clinics as required.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MD/DNB in Ophthalmology or DOMS (freshers / recent postgraduates encouraged to apply).
- Active medical registration with the relevant State Medical Council.
- Strong clinical skills in slit-lamp exam, refraction, tonometry and fundoscopy suitable for high-volume OPD.
- Comfortable performing basic minor ocular procedures under supervision.
- Professional communication and patient-counseling skills; ability to work full-time on-site.
Preferred
- Exposure to YAG/argon laser procedures or basic surgical assistance experience.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and basic diagnostic interpretation (B-scan, visual fields).
- Proficiency in Kannada and English to communicate effectively with local patients.
Compensation, Schedule & Location
- Salary: INR 1,00,000 per month (can stretch up to INR 1,10,000 for exceptional candidates).
- Working hours: 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM, with a 1.5-hour lunch break.
- Workplace: On-site at Doddaballapur clinic, easily commutable from Yelahanka and surrounding localities.
