Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate written content from English to French and French to English with a high degree of accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
  • Perform linguistic reviews, proofreading, and quality assurance checks on French-language documents, marketing materials, product content, and internal communications.
  • Provide real-time interpretation for meetings, interviews, client interactions, and internal cross-functional discussions as required.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize French terminology databases, glossaries, and style guides.
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, operations, training, and customer support teams to ensure cohesive French-language messaging.
  • Conduct linguistic audits to ensure adherence to brand voice, regulatory requirements, and localization quality standards.
  • Offer cultural consultancy to inform audience-specific communication strategies and improve market relevance.
  • Support process improvements related to localization, translation workflow, and quality management.

Required Qualifications

  • Native or near-native proficiency in French (spoken and written) and advanced proficiency in English.
  • Bachelors degree in Linguistics, Translation Studies, French Language, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven professional experience in translation, interpretation, localization, or linguistic quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of French grammar, syntax, regional variations, idiomatic expressions, and cultural norms.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with translation tools (e.g., CAT tools, terminology management platforms) is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in [industry: e.g., technology, customer support, legal, healthcare, finance, BPO, or marketing].
  • Familiarity with localization frameworks and internationalization standards.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional, global teams and manage multiple concurrent assignments.
