This is a full-time, on-site role for a Food Technologist - New Product Development - Lead, based in Bengaluru. The role involves leading the planning, development, and execution of new product formulations in alignment with the company’s goals. Key responsibilities include conducting research and development (R&D), performing sensory evaluations, ensuring quality control, and managing laboratory processes. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative food and beverage products to market while adhering to safety and quality standards.
· Develop and reformulate recipes from concept to shelf; including trials, feasibility studies, and scale-up
· Design experiments, document results, and refine formulations based on insights and market feedback.
· Research functional ingredients and global trends to drive innovation.
· Ensure all formulations and packaging comply with FSSAI standards and labelling regulations.
· Collaborate with external labs, co-manufacturers, and packaging partners for product development.
· Work with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure products are commercially viable and cost-effective.
· Min 4 years of experience in food product development, ideally with a D2C or consumer food brand.
· Background in Food Technology, Nutrition, or Food Science (CFTRI/NIFTEM/ICT is a major plus!).
· Hands-on experience with spices, seasoning blends, or beverage formulations is a huge advantage.
· Local vendor knowledge is a bonus
· Strong understanding of FSSAI, food safety, and labelling norms
· Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DoE) and pilot trials.
· A builder’s mindset, curious, adaptable, and execution-driven.
