Position: Senior Firewall Engineer Location: Chennai (Work from Office) Job Type: Full-time Total Experience 8 Years Relevant Experience – 5 years (Mandatory) Timings: 24 / 7 Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Firewall Engineer to join our Network Security team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing firewall infrastructure across enterprise environments. This role requires deep expertise in firewall technologies, security protocols, and network security best practices to ensure a secure and resilient IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and manage enterprise firewall solutions, including policies, rule sets, and access controls. • Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex firewall-related issues. • Monitor firewall performance, conduct regular security assessments, and implement necessary updates and patches. • Optimize firewall configurations to enhance security posture while maintaining business continuity. • Collaborate with internal and external teams to analyze security incidents and provide remediation solutions. • Conduct in-depth analysis of network traffic and logs to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. • Lead firewall migrations, upgrades, and integration projects. • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including firewall rules, configurations, and security policies. • Provide mentorship and guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 engineers. • Ensure compliance with industry security standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements. • Participate in on-call rotation for incident response and emergency troubleshooting. Required Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 5+ years of hands-on experience with firewall technologies, including but not limited to Palo Alto, Fortinet, Zscaler, Cisco ASA/Firepower, and Check Point. • Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, etc.). • Expertise in intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and threat intelligence. • Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls) and regulatory requirements (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR). • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, PowerShell) for firewall management is a plus. • Proficiency in SIEM tools, packet analysis, and log correlation for threat analysis. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick decisions in highpressure situations. • Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Certifications: (Atleast 2 certifications - Mandatory): • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) • Fortinet NSE4/NSE7 • Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security) • Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) • Zscaler Delivery Specialist / Zscaler for Users – Advanced (EDU-202) / Zscaler Digital Transformation Admin Role & responsibilities Preferred candidate profile
