Role Overview: As a Firewall L1 at our company, you will be responsible for demonstrating strong knowledge and a minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in at least 2 areas of security such as Firewalls (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco), Web ATP (Palo Alto), Firewall Rule Analyzer (Algo Sec), Network Intrusion Prevention System (NIPS - Cisco), and Malicious IP Blocking (Net Scout). Your primary tasks will include Firewall Policy Management, reviewing Firewall change requests based on customer security standards, monitoring network security devices for potential outages, communicating with vendors for operational support, analyzing triggered alarms in the NIPS/ATP, and managing daily tickets for change/service requests. Additionally, you will be expected to take backups for all SOC devices daily, move backups to external storage, optimize and fine-tune firewall policies based on Algosec firewall analyzer, and maintain the firewall policy security rating above 95.
