Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls (e.g.,
Palo Alto
,
Fortinet
,
Cisco ASA/Firepower
,
Check Point
, etc.).
Manage firewall rules, NAT policies, VPN tunnels, and access control lists (ACLs) to ensure secure connectivity.
Monitor firewall logs and alerts for potential threats, anomalies, or misconfigurations.
Review and analyze firewall change requests to ensure alignment with security policies.
Conduct regular firewall audits and rule cleanup to improve efficiency and reduce attack surfaces.
Collaborate with network, security, and compliance teams on projects and incident response.
Maintain documentation of firewall configurations, policies, and change histories.
Stay up-to-date with new vulnerabilities, patches, and emerging firewall technologies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
3+ years of experience as a firewall or network security administrator.
Hands-on experience with one or more firewall platforms such as:
Palo Alto Networks
,
Fortinet FortiGate
,
Cisco ASA/Firepower
,
Check Point
, or
Juniper SRX
Strong understanding of
TCP/IP
,
routing
,
subnetting
,
NAT
, and
VPNs
(IPSec/SSL).
Familiarity with
IDS/IPS
,
proxy servers
, and
next-generation firewall (NGFW)
features.
Proficient in security policy management and firewall rule lifecycle.
Experience with log analysis and SIEM tools for security monitoring.

Desirable Skills and Certifications:

Relevant certifications such as:
PCNSE (Palo Alto)

Fortinet NSE

Cisco CCNP Security

Check Point CCSA/CCSE

Scripting or automation experience with
Python
