Database Administration Advisor - HIH - Evernorth

Responsibilities:

• Assist with intake requests, collaborate with the database engineering team and the database production support team and internal customers to deliver an enterprise-level database backend solution for top-tier applications
• Responsible for all aspects of database administration for SQL Server databases including problem solving, configuration, and implementation efforts for large and / or complex projects with an emphasis in operation excellence and continuous improvement of database related processes and procedures
• Provide database solutions for organizational needs while working in accordance with internal policies and procedures
• Works with project teams to create needed database solutions
• Responsible for quality control and auditing of database access to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data
• Consults with and advises users on access to and performance of databases
• Works directly with users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage
• Responsible for ensuring high levels of data available and database performance
• Tunes and optimizes SQL Statements, Instance Parameters, and Data Storage, including the identification of performance related issues
• Creates database objects
• Participation in the design, creation, and maintenance of SQL databases
• Participate in scrum/work assignment meetings
• Responsible for indexes, buffers, and cache
