Job Description

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive financial counseling services to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their financial obligations and options

Assist patients in navigating insurance coverage and benefits, as well as hospital billing processes

Develop personalized financial plans to help patients manage healthcare costs effectively

Collaborate with the billing department to resolve patient inquiries and discrepancies in billing statements

Educate patients about payment plans, financial assistance programs, and other support services available to them

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health insurance policies, regulations, and healthcare billing practices

Document all patient interactions and financial counseling sessions accurately and confidentially

Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure financial considerations are integrated into patient care plans

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

Proven experience in a financial counseling or healthcare billing role, preferably within a hospital or healthcare setting

Strong understanding of insurance policies, healthcare billing, and financial assistance programs

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals

Proficiency in using financial software and patient management systems

Ability to analyze financial data and provide sound financial advice

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
