Job Description: Financial Consulting - Manager
- Bachelor s or Post graduate degree in accounting, Commerce, Finance, or related field.
- 13+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in Family Office accounting (US preferred).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, family office accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience in managing client relationships and leading teams.
- Proficiency with accounting systems commonly used by family office (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Bill.com, Tallie)
- Experience in Blackline is preferred
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work overlapping hours with US time zones.
Position Responsibilities
Client & Engagement Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned US family office clients.
- Manage multiple accounting engagements, ensuring timely delivery of all recurring and ad-hoc financial requirements.
- Lead client calls, monthly/quarterly reviews, and financial discussions with US leadership teams.
- Develop work plans, timelines, and engagement scope; ensure adherence to SLAs and quality standards.
Family Office Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee the holistic financial operations for a high-net-worth family and review of:
- Reviewing AP Bill / Customer Invoices
- Payroll and Payroll Benefits
- Bank posting (Checking & Savings)
- Balance sheet reconciliations, Open Items
- Credit card transactions
- Develop annual budgets, Manage forecasts
- Understanding of 1099 process
- Consolidating data from various entities (Trusts, LLCs, Investments, Personal) and preparing financial statements including Cash flow projections, reports and analyses for stakeholders.
- Monitor financial controls, accounting accuracy, and documentation standards.
Brokerage and Alternative Investment Accounting
- Understanding investment, tax, and estate planning principles.
- Review investment transactions (capital calls, contributions, distributions).
- Review of Brokerage transactions and FMV adjustments
- Review of Alternative Investment transactions, NAV adjustments and Waterfall entry
- Understanding of K-1 report and reviewing the K-1 Journals
- Reconcile portfolios and support analysis of investment performance.
Audit & Compliance Support
- Prepare for and support annual external audits, including the Single Audit where applicable.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, compliance requirements, and nonprofit sector regulations.
Team Leadership & Offshore Coordination
- Lead and mentor a team of accountants and associates in India.
- Review team deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and client readiness.
- Provide training in US family office accounting process, systems, and best practices.
- Foster a cohesive, quality-focused team environment.
System & Process Development
- Work with accounting tools such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Bill.com, Tallie, Blackline or other family office ERPs.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Support system configuration, migrations, and optimization for clients as needed
