Job Description

In this role at American Express, as part of the Controllership organization, you will be a key player in the U.S. Regulatory Reporting team responsible for delivering Bank Holding Company regulatory reports in compliance with U.S. Federal and State regulators. Your role will involve supporting the Regulatory Reporting Interpretive Office to ensure accuracy, consistency, and improvement of overall regulatory reporting processes. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to review controls, update risk assessments, and formulate responses to regulatory inquiries. Key Responsibilities: - Assist and support the execution of the Regulatory Reporting Interpretive Office framework. - Accurately interpret and document reporting instructions to ensure compliance with reporting requirements and data elements. - Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and Regulatory Reporting leaders to review and evaluate the control environment. - Contribute to driving continuous process improvements, automation, and enhancing process documentation. - Flexibility to work a hybrid schedule. Qualifications Required: - 2+ years of experience in Accounting/Reporting/Auditing. - Experience in financial services or highly regulated environments. - Strong understanding of U.S. Regulatory and U.S. GAAP requirements. - Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive projects, and work well under tight deadlines. - Strong written/oral communication, relationship building, presentation, and collaboration skills. - Proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization, external regulators, and auditors. Preferred Qualifications: - Prior experience in Regulatory/Federal Reserve/SEC/External Reporting and banking/financial services. - Experience assisting with preparation of Regulatory Reports required by FRB, including FR Y-9C, Call Report (FFIEC 031), FR2052a, and FR Y-14. - Knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and standard processes.
