Job Title: Finance & Payroll Analyst (Advanced Excel Specialist)

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Report Generation:

  Design and maintain automated payroll reconciliation reports, variance analyses, and month-end financial summaries.

• Data Integrity:

  Audit large datasets to identify discrepancies between payroll inputs, bank outputs, and general ledger entries.

• Formula Architecture:

  Build and troubleshoot complex Excel models using nested logic, lookup functions, and data validation to manage the manual works.

• Compliance & Tax Reporting:

  Prepare statutory reports (PF, PT, ESI, TDS) and ensure all calculations align with current labor laws and tax brackets.

• Stakeholder Support:

  Translate raw payroll data into actionable insights for the Finance team for the P&L update.

Technical Requirements (The "Must-Haves")

• Advanced Excel Mastery:

  You must be able to demonstrate expert-level proficiency in:

• Logic & Conditions:

  Complex IF, IFS, AND/OR nesting, and SWITCH functions.

• Data Aggregation:

  XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables (including Calculated Fields), and Power Query.

• Data Cleaning:

  Text-to-columns, advanced filtering, and conditional formatting for error detection.

• Accounting Foundation:

  Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, accruals, and financial statement impact.

• CA Firm Experience:

  Minimum of 23 years of experience in a CA firm environment, handling audits, taxation, or financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with

  VBA/Macros

  or

  Power BI

  is a significant plus.
• Prior exposure to automated Payroll/ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or localized payroll tools).
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential data with the utmost discretion.
