Finance and Accounts Controller

As a Finance & Accounts Controller at a fast-growing D2C beauty brand organization based in Mumbai, you will be entrusted with the crucial responsibility of managing the financial aspects of the company. Your role will involve working closely with the leadership team to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization. This includes overseeing the entire accounts function, managing working capital, optimizing costs, complying with statutory requirements, and providing valuable financial insights through MIS reporting. You will serve as the primary custodian of all finance-related activities within the organization. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining financial models to forecast cash flow requirements, evaluating working capital needs, and formulating strategies to optimize cash flow by balancing debt and equity capital. Collaborating with external partners such as banks and investors, you will negotiate favorable financing terms to support the company's working capital requirements. In addition, you will be responsible for preparing regular financial reports and presentations for management, investors, and other stakeholders. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements will be a key aspect of your role. Identifying financial risks and implementing mitigation strategies to protect the company's assets and financial stability will also be part of your responsibilities. Collaboration with other departments such as operations, sales, and marketing is essential to align financial goals with business objectives. You will act as the controller for departments to ensure adherence to revenue and expense projections, while also setting up forecasting models and review cadences for the Leadership Team. Your role will involve detailed spreadsheet modeling, financial analysis, and providing value-added insights to the founder to support decision-making. Leading a team to manage books of accounts, creating financial statements, ensuring statutory compliances, preparing budgets and revenue plans, analyzing unit economics, and preparing MIS investor dashboards are among the specific responsibilities associated with this role. Qualifications for this position include being a Qualified CA or MBA in Finance, having at least 6 years of experience in finance at a D2C brand, and possessing strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial modeling, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
