An Accountant will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day finance operations, operations across administration, facilities, statutory compliance, payroll support, travel coordination, and employee support.This role requires strong attention to detail, hands-on execution, and the ability to manage both financial operational tasks and core office operations.You will also liaise with internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and accurate financial record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Operations & Compliance
- Maintain accurate books of accounts, including ledger entries and accounts payable/receivable, using accounting software or Excel
- Monitor and analyze salary costs and direct expenses to ensure alignment with the 90% expenditure benchmark
- Process monthly payroll for 150 employees, and 50 interns and contractors
- Prepare and file GST returns, TDS returns, and other statutory filings as per Indian tax laws
- Review and reconcile bank statements, vendor invoices, and employee expense claims
- Generate monthly financial reports such as profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for senior management
- Liaison with the companys CA for income tax filing and statutory compliance
- Handle bank-related activities including payments processing, reconciliations, and documentation
- Operations & Administration
- Manage daily office administration and operational activities for seamless functioning
- Oversee facilities, housekeeping, maintenance, and vendor coordination to ensure a safe and efficient workplace
- Maintain IT and office inventory, including lifecycle management of assets such as laptops, furniture, and consumables
- Keep accurate operational documentation, dashboards, and reporting records
- Facilities Management & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including Labour Laws, PF/ESI, EHS, and Fire Safety regulations
- Oversee functioning of power systems, inverter units, and other facility infrastructure
- Prepare and support documentation for internal and external facility audits, ensuring timely closure of findings
- Travel & Logistics
- Manage domestic and international travel arrangements, including ticketing, accommodation, and visa coordination
- Organize logistics for quarterly business meets, leadership meetings, and events
- Employee Support & Coordination
- Coordinate with IT for laptop issuance and IT onboarding logistics
- Support HR Operations in employee onboarding, welcome kits, goodies distribution, and office set-up
- Manage guest visits, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment
- Continuous Improvement & Reporting
- Identify gaps and improve operational procedures, processes, and information flow
- Assist leadership with operational insights, dashboards, and management reporting for decision-making
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- M.Com or a related field
- 3-4 years of experience in accounts
- Administration experience is added advantage
- Strong knowledge of Indian accounting principles, payroll, GST/TDS, and statutory compliance
- Excellent communication skills in English, Marathi, and Hindi
- Strong stakeholder management and vendor coordination skills
- High ownership, accountability, and ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Proficiency in MS Excel, financial reporting, and operational documentation
