Job Description for Field Investigator

Position Overview:

Global Village Foundation (GVF) is seeking a motivated and inquisitive Field Investigator to support our research team in conducting a ICSSR-funded project. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about field research, on-site data collection, and oral history documentation. The field investigator will work closely with senior researchers on various ongoing projects and gain hands-on experience in the research ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct field surveys, semi-structured interviews and oral history documentation (ability to engage with local community members)
• Contribute to fieldwork planning & coordination where required .
• Good communication and observational skills
• Good in data organisation
• Open to travel and field assignments across locations (North India)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and manage time efficiently

Qualifications:

• A Master’s degree from the field of Social Sciences (with 55% minimum marks).
• Preference would be given to students from History and Archeology background

Duration & Salary:

• Duration: 6 months (can be extended based on performance and project needs)
• Salary: A modest remuneration will be provided according to ICSSR guidelines
