Please find the details below and share your interest at aarati.pardhi@emids.com Job Description : We are looking for an experienced FHIR Engineer to design, implement, and support healthcare data solutions using the HL7 FHIR standard . The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of FHIR , healthcare data formats , and clinical system integration , along with the ability to develop scalable and secure APIs and services within a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities: FHIR API Development : Design and build RESTful APIs based on FHIR R4/R5 standards. Implement and manage FHIR resource modeling, profiles, and extensions. Develop and maintain FHIR servers and client applications using tools like HAPI FHIR or cloud-based services (e.g., Azure API for FHIR , Google Cloud Healthcare API ). Integration & Data Handling : Map and transform data from legacy formats (HL7 v2/v3, CDA, X12) to FHIR. Enable interoperability between EHR systems, third-party applications, and patient-facing platforms. Support SMART on FHIR , OAuth2.0 , and identity integration for secure access. Testing & Compliance : Conduct validation and conformance testing using tools like Touchstone and Inferno . Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA , USCDI , ONC guidelines ). Collaboration & Documentation : Work with architects, developers, and clinical informatics teams to ensure alignment with business and clinical requirements. Document technical designs, data flows, API specifications, and versioning. Required Skills: 6+ years of experience in healthcare IT, including at least 3 years working directly with FHIR . Strong experience with FHIR R4/R5 , resource creation, profiling, and implementation. Solid understanding of HL7 v2/v3 , CDA , and clinical data transformation. Hands-on experience with FHIR libraries and frameworks (e.g., HAPI FHIR , Firely , Smile CDR ). Familiarity with SMART on FHIR , OAuth2.0 , and authentication protocols. Programming experience in Java , Python , or .NET for API and backend development. Knowledge of clinical terminologies: SNOMED CT , LOINC , ICD-10 . Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: HL7 or FHIR certification (e.g., HL7 Certified FHIR Professional ). Experience with EHRs (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) or Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) . Experience with US Core , Da Vinci Project , or IHE profiles .
