Features Writer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced long-form feature writer who is excited about health and wellness to join our team. The ideal candidate should have an experience in writing for pop culture, lifestyle, theatre, and arts, and should be able to independently research and identify experts for stories. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing engaging long-form feature stories for various mediums such as magazines, newspapers, and online publications.

Responsibilities:

• Pitch and write long-form feature stories on a variety of topics, including lifestyle, wellness, mental health and skincare.
• Conduct independent research to identify experts and gather information for stories.
• Develop a network of sources and maintain relationships with them.
• Work collaboratively with editors and other team members to develop story ideas and ensure accuracy and quality.
• Write clean, well-structured, and engaging copy that meets the publication's standards.
• Meet deadlines
• Attend events and interviews as required to gather information and build relationships with industry experts.
• Should be proactive is stepping out and looking for interesting stories that can help enhance the readers life. 

Qualifications:

• At least 3-4years of experience in writing long-form feature stories on pop culture, lifestyle, theatre, arts, books, travel or related subjects.
• An interest in mental health and wellness topics, and a willingness to learn and research new ideas and concepts.
• A strong portfolio of published work in magazines, weekend features for newspapers, and online publications.
• Excellent research and interviewing skills, and ability to identify and contact relevant experts.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Experience working with editors and meeting tight deadlines.
• A passion for storytelling and a desire to produce high-quality, engaging content.
