Fabricator Inspector (Transformer)

**Job Description:** **Role Overview:** As a Transformer Fabrication Inspector in the power transformer manufacturing and electrical equipment fabrication sector, your primary responsibility will be to inspect fabricated transformer components to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and safe fabrication practices. You will work on-site in India, focusing on ensuring the quality of medium- to high-voltage transformer components and full assemblies throughout the production lifecycle. **Key Responsibilities:** - Inspect fabricated transformer components (cores, windings, tanks, radiators, bushings, tap-changers) against engineering drawings, material specifications, and acceptance criteria. - Perform dimensional checks using precision tools (vernier, micrometer, height gauge; CMM where available) and verify material traceability, heat-treatment, and surface-finish records. - Conduct welding inspections, visual checks, and coordination for MT/PT; validate weld profiles, pre/post-heat treatment, and create NCRs for non-conformances. - Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, First Article Inspections (FAI), hold-point verifications, and quality records in the QMS. - Collaborate with fabrication, welding, QA, and test teams to drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and timely closure of issues. - Enforce safety and on-site compliance (PPE, LOTO), support customer/vendor inspections, and assist during FAT/SAT and delivery readiness checks. **Qualifications Required:** - B.E. in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing or equivalent with 3+ years of hands-on inspection experience in transformers, power equipment, or heavy electrical fabrication. - Proficient in MS Office; basic understanding of NDT methods and standard electrical test procedures for transformers. **Additional Details:** The company offers competitive compensation with on-site technical training and support for professional certifications.
