1) Ensuring the optimum deployment of all resources in Fabrication to meet the production targets.

2) Preparing and monitoring monthly production plans based on ABP plan

3) Assessing skill levels of workmen, planning & executing relevant training

4) Implementing low-cost welding automation

5) Spreading kaizen awareness & improving workmen participation

6) Ensuring satisfaction of internal as well as external customers.

7) Achieving First time right quality in line with production targets.

8) Discussion with QA and welding for daily targets.

9) Estimating man days for all A class components and getting it vetted by Process.

10) Tracking & improving quality through daily interaction with workmen, keeping records of quality performance of individual workmen and training.

11) Implementation of TPM on all fabrication machines to achieve zero breakdown.

12) Ensuring zero injuries to personnel and no property damage during fabrication operations

13) Reporting of near misses, taking CAPA & Documenting the same

14) Complying to IMS, BEM requirements & relevant documentation

15) Participating in external competitions.

16) Participating in Process discussions for OPS/MPS finalisation.

Roles & Responsibility

1. Superior Business Performance

-Timely execution of developmental / special projects of NPCIL like End Shield , FMBC and CSS mainly which involves Heavy Fabrication.

- Leading a team of engineers in fabrication of heavy prismatic as well as cylindrical parts, made from SS or CS.

- Understanding the various welding processes and NDT qualification to certify the weld quality.

- Annual budgeting, Generating production plan on daily, weekly & monthly basis.

- Monitoring the execution of production plan & resolving any potential issues in time to meet the order timelines.

- Designing fixtures for control / elimination of weld distortion

- Supervise, select, develop, coach, and evaluate managing personnel to ensure efficient manufacturing.

- Finalizing process plans made by process planners for upcoming projects.

- Preparing and monitoring project schedules, presenting variances during project reviews.

- Ensuring active participation and involvement in Business Excellence, IMS, Safety, Kaizen.

2. People Management

- Capability Building, People development & retention through OJT, Learning & Skill enhancement inputs to all team members.

- Identifying the various competency development needs of sub-ordinates, their planning and fulfilment.

- Ensuring safety of people and infrastructure and take initiatives to ensure Zero accident.

3. Customer Satisfaction

- Ensuring decreasing product field failure rates and maintain commitment to quality regulations.

- Improved Quality performance for higher customer satisfaction.

- Deployment of First time Right Quality Approach: Innovation, Automation, Digitization

4. Sustainable Practices

- Defining Procedures and controls, checklists, OPS and reporting of WDS, results on real time basis.

Qualification

Degree in Mechanical engineering OR Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience –

• For Degree - Min 6-8 years relevant experience in Precision Fabrication OR
• For Diploma - Min 8-10 years relevant experience in Precision Fabrication
