Fabric Executive

1. Vendor Identification & Development

Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers and mills for various fabric requirements.

Maintain a comprehensive database of approved vendors.

2. Enquiry & Sample Management

Obtain fabric swatches and samples as per order requirements.

Coordinate timely submission of lab dips, strike-offs, and bulk approvals.

Follow up for approvals from buyers/merchandisers.

3. Costing & Negotiation

Invite quotations from multiple vendors.

Negotiate prices, payment terms, and lead times to ensure best cost and delivery terms.

4. Order Placement & Follow-Up

Raise purchase orders accurately as per approved fabrics.

Track order status regularly and ensure on-time deliveries.

Resolve any issues related to delays, shortages, or rejections.

5. Quality Assurance Coordination

Coordinate fabric inspections and quality checks as per standards.

Follow up on lab test reports if needed.

Manage claims for defective or non-conforming fabrics.

6. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain proper records of enquiries, quotations, approvals, POs, and delivery challans.

Prepare and share regular status reports with the fabric manager and merchandising team.

7. Coordination with Internal Teams

Coordinate with merchandising, production, and store teams for fabric status updates.

Ensure smooth handover of fabric to stores and production.

8. Market Intelligence

Keep track of market trends, new fabric developments, and cost changes.

Share updates with seniors for strategic sourcing decisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Good knowledge of fabric types, constructions, and garment manufacturing processes.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Good follow-up and time management skills.

Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word).

Education: Graduate in Textile/Fashion/Apparel or relevant field Preferred.Role & responsibilities
