Eye counsellor

Job Summary:

The Eye Counsellor plays a crucial role in guiding patients through the process of diagnosis, treatment, and surgical procedures related to eye care. This position requires a compassionate, well-informed individual who can clearly explain eye conditions, procedures (like cataract or LASIK surgery), and post-operative care to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Educate patients on various eye conditions, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Assist patients in understanding the need for surgery or treatment as advised by the ophthalmologist.
• Guide patients through the treatment and surgical scheduling process.
• Provide pre- and post-operative counselling and instructions.
• Address patient concerns with empathy and clarity.
• Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and counselling notes.
• Support in the coordination of community outreach eye camps or screening events.
• Collaborate with optometrists, ophthalmologists, and administrative staff for holistic patient care.

Qualifications & Skills:

• qualification : optometry
• Certification in patient counselling or ophthalmic assistant training is a plus.
• 2+years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or eye care setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to speak local languages is highly desirable.
• Basic knowledge of eye conditions like cataract, glaucoma, refractive errors, etc.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
