The opportunity
We re looking for a candidate with 6-10 years of expertise in insurance domain to act as Functional Lead to a larger team in EY GDS DnA team to work on various Data and Analytics projects
Your key responsibilities
- Understanding of insurance domain (PnC)
- Be responsible for the development of the conceptual, logical, and physical data models, the implementation of RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, and data lakes on target cloud platforms.
- Oversee and govern the expansion of existing data architecture and the optimization of data query performance via best practices.
- The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively
- Implement business and IT data requirements through new data strategies and designs across all data platforms (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL) and data tools (reporting, visualization, analytics, and machine learning).
- Work with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, build data mapping, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models
- Define and govern data modelling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models.
- Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks.
Skills and attributes for success
- Use an issue-based approach to deliver growth, market and portfolio strategy engagements for corporates.
- Strong communication, presentation and team building skills and experience in producing high quality reports, papers, and presentations.
- Experience in executing and managing research and analysis of companies and markets, preferably from a commercial due diligence standpoint.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- BE/BTech/MCA/MBA with 6 - 10 years of industry experience in Data related engagements.
- At least 3 years of experience in Insurance Domain.
- Ability to do end to end data solutions from analysis, mapping, profiling, ETL architecture and data modelling.
- An understanding of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Data Modelling.
- Experience of working in Guidewire DataHub InfoCenter.
- Strong knowledge of relational and dimensional data modelling concepts
- Skill to Develop logical and physical data flow models for ETL applications.
- Expertise to translate data access, transformation and movement requirements into functional requirements and mapping designs.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture, database structure , data analysis and SQL skills
- Experience in data management analysis. Analyse business objectives and evaluate data solutions to meet customer needs.
- Experience in establishing scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses and management
- Strong data analysis skills to prepare and analyse historical data and identify patterns
- Expertise in collaborating with technology team and support the development of analytical models with the effective use of data and analytic techniques.
- Ability to validate the model results and articulate the insights to the business team.
- To drive the Business requirements gathering for analytics projects
- Intellectual curiosity - eagerness to learn new things
- Experience with unstructured data is added advantage
- Ability to effectively visualize and communicate analysis results
- Experience with big data and cloud preferred
- Experience, interest and adaptability to working in an Agile delivery environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where change is a constant and ability to handle ambiguous requirements
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Ideally, you ll also have
- Good exposure to any ETL tools.
- Good knowledge about PC insurance.
- Understanding of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Data Modelling.
- Must have led a team size of at least 4 members.
- Prior Client facing skills, Self-motivated and collaborative
