Exterior Trims Design Engineer

As a Senior Design Engineer specializing in Exterior Trims for the automotive industry, you will be responsible for designing and developing components such as Bumper Systems, Grills, DRL Covers, and exterior Panels. Your primary focus will be to ensure that these trims meet aesthetic, functional, and ergonomic requirements. Your proficiency in CATIA V5 or V6 CAD software will be essential for creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of soft trim components. Additionally, having a basic knowledge of Team Center (PLM) will be beneficial for this role. It is crucial to have a good understanding of Automotive Exterior Regulatory requirements for passenger vehicles. You should be capable of independently creating master sections, concepts, and detailed designs. Proficiency in GD & T and Gap Plan is necessary for this position. Your responsibilities will include generating technical documentation such as DFMEA, DFS, DFM, DFA, DVP, as well as preparing SOR and providing support for supplier onboarding. Participation in design reviews to offer constructive feedback for process improvement is expected. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations related to automotive interiors and soft trim components is vital. Feasibility studies and prototype testing will be conducted to validate designs and ensure they meet performance specifications. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance, to integrate soft trim designs into vehicle platforms is essential. Researching new materials, manufacturing techniques, and industry trends to enhance designs and reduce costs will also be part of your responsibilities. Ideally, you should hold a B.E. in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering from a recognized college or university. Alternatively, a Post Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering would also be considered for this role.,
