Export Manager

Job Title

Job Purpose

To drive export sales growth by identifying new international markets, developing relationships with global clients, negotiating deals, and ensuring smooth execution of export operations in line with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in international markets.
• Conduct market research to understand customer needs, pricing trends, and competitor activity in global regions.
• Manage existing overseas customer accounts and build strong, long-term relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery conditions with international clients.
• Coordinate with production, logistics, and documentation teams to ensure timely and accurate shipment and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs laws, and documentation requirements.
• Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and B2B meetings to promote products.
• Forecast sales volumes and prepare annual export budgets and targets.
• Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
• Manage export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, etc.

Key Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of international sales and export documentation
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Understanding of INCOTERMS, shipping procedures, and international trade laws
• Ability to work independently and manage cross-functional coordination
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel internationally

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
• 4 to 5 years of experience in export sales or international marketing
• Prior experience in [industry-specific, e.g., engineering goods, electrical products, or FMCG] export preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
