Expert Manual Transmission (Gears & Shafts)

As a candidate for the role of Design and Development Engineer for Gears & Shafts, your main responsibilities will include: - Designing and developing gears and shafts for prototype and production purposes, ensuring compliance with best practices, function, assembly requirements, and serviceability requirements. - Coordinating with component experts for design, detailing, and reviews with appropriate competency expertise. - Leading Monozoukuri and VAVE Workshops to meet target cost targets. - Leading global localization/product design and development activities for subsystem from RFQ phase to regular production, validating component specifications during each project phase. - Coordinating different task forces in crisis situations and supporting the program team to achieve milestones in terms of best cost and on-time deliverables. - Deciding on component and aggregate level validation requirements and communicating design risks, related changes, and impacts to all cross-functional teams. - Leading supplier technical reviews along with different cross-functional teams. Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor / Master Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering Discipline. - 15+ years of experience in Manual Transmission design and development with a focus on Gear & shaft sub-system. - Sound knowledge of design of rotating components with gears geometry of Spur & Helical. - Basic knowledge of gears and shafts manufacturing processes (e.g., gear cutting and finishing processes, straightening, shot peening, etc.). - Hands-on experience in Detailing, Tolerancing, and stack-up analysis. - Good knowledge of materials and heat treatment processes. - Good knowledge of APQP processes. - Hands-on experience in tools like UG, TeamCenter, Romex & Kiss soft. - Strong soft skills and ability to lead a team of engineers.,
