We have been mandated by a large conglomerate for the below mentioned role.

Job Title: Executive - Asst Manager Purchase

Industry: Cement / Building Materials

Department: Procurement & Supply Chain

Purpose of the role:

Purchase fuction with an Electrical Engineering background

Key Responsibilities:

1. Capex Procurement:

• End-to-end procurement for capital equipment and machinery (e.g., transformers, motors, VFDs, panels, substations, etc.).
• Collaborate with Engineering and Project teams to understand technical specifications.
• Vendor development and technical-commercial evaluation of bids.
• Manage RFQs, RFPs, techno-commercial negotiations, and PO finalization.
• Ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and project cost optimization.

2. Opex Procurement:

• Procure electrical spares, consumables, and services required for plant maintenance and operations.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with stores and maintenance teams for timely replenishment.
• Identify alternate suppliers to improve cost, quality, and lead time.

3. Vendor & Contract Management:

• Identify and onboard reliable suppliers and contractors.
• Negotiate long-term agreements for critical items.
• Monitor vendor performance in terms of quality, delivery, and service.

4. Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure procurement activities align with company policies and statutory regulations.
• Maintain proper documentation (P.O.s, GRNs, invoices, inspection reports).
• Coordinate with finance and logistics for payment processing and delivery follow-ups.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination:

• Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Project, and Finance departments.
• Support internal audits and cost control initiatives.
• Participate in budgeting and planning exercises for Capex/Opex items.
