ETP Operator

Position Title: ETP Operator

Location: Karunagapally

Job Purpose

To operate, monitor, and maintain the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure wastewater is treated as per PCB (Pollution Control Board) norms and environmental safety standards followed in the food industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor ETP units such as: collection tanks, aeration tanks, clarifiers, sludge handling, MBBR/UF/RO systems (as applicable).
• Maintain desired pH, DO, MLSS, TDS, COD, BOD and other wastewater parameters.
• Handle chemical dosing (Coagulant, PAC, Poly, Chlorine, etc.) and maintain proper dosing levels.
• Conduct and record daily checks of water quality by basic lab testing.
• Monitor and record flow meter, pressure gauges, pumps, blowers, and valves.
• Ensure proper sludge dewatering and disposal as per company and PCB guidelines.
• Maintain daily logbooks, checklists, chemical consumption records, and test data.
• Coordinate with EHS / Utility / Production team to manage wastewater load from process areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and report any breakdown or abnormal condition.
• Ensure 100% compliance with Pollution Control Board (PCB) standards.
• Follow 5S, safety rules, PPE compliance, and hygiene protocols applicable in food plants.

Skills & Competencies

• Good knowledge of ETP operations, water testing, and chemical handling.
• Basic understanding of food industry hygiene and safety practices.
• Able to read and maintain technical logs, MIS, and basic lab reports.
• Should be a team player with strong observation and reporting skills.

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma / ITI in Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical / Environmental preferred.
• 1–5 years of experience in ETP/STP operations (Food/Beverage/FMCG experience preferred).
• Knowledge of PCB norms and basic lab testing is an added advantage.
