Job Purpose: The Interface Manager Signaling & Telecommunication Systems is responsible for managing and overseeing all technical and functional interfaces between signaling and telecommunication subsystems and other civil and systems packages. The role ensures seamless integration of technologies such as ETCS (European Train Control System) , CBTC (Communication-Based Train Control) , and modern telecommunication systems in metro, mainline rail, and high-speed rail projects . This role is crucial for ensuring that interfaces are clearly defined, controlled, and executed in alignment with technical specifications, project schedules, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Interface Management & Coordination Manage and coordinate all interfaces involving signaling and telecommunication systems with civil, track, power supply, rolling stock, and SCADA systems. Oversee the integration planning for technologies such as ETCS Level 1/2 , CBTC , onboard and wayside systems, and optical and wireless telecommunication networks . Ensure technical compatibility and alignment across all interfacing systems and disciplines. Documentation & Control Prepare and maintain: Interface Control Documents (ICDs) Interface Requirement Specifications (IRS) Interface Matrix Common Interface Program Track interface documentation status and ensure timely sign-off and version control across stakeholders. Stakeholder Engagement Lead interface coordination meetings with engineering teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and third parties. Act as a key liaison between the Signaling, Telecom, Civil, Power, and Rolling Stock teams to resolve conflicts and align technical solutions. Risk, Safety, and Compliance Identify and manage interface-related risks , escalating issues as needed with mitigation strategies. Ensure that interface design and execution are compliant with international standards (e.g., CENELEC EN 50126/8/9, IEC, IEEE) and local safety regulations. Support safety case preparation and assurance for signaling and telecom integration. Testing, Validation & Commissioning Support Collaborate with integration and testing teams to support System Integration Testing (SIT) and System Acceptance Testing (SAT) . Ensure interface readiness for testing, commissioning, and operational handover. Progress Monitoring & Reporting Monitor on-site interface progress related to signaling and telecom packages and report regularly to project leadership. Maintain logs of interface resolutions, risks, and decision tracking. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Railway Systems, or Communications Engineering. Minimum 10+ years of experience in interface management for signaling and telecommunication systems . Must have direct experience working with ETCS (L1/L2) , CBTC , and advanced telecom technologies in at least one major Metro, Mainline Rail, or High-Speed Rail project . Solid understanding of signaling principles (interlocking, RBCs, balises, train detection) and telecom infrastructure (OFC, radio, public address, passenger information, etc.). Familiarity with systems engineering processes and interface planning tools (e.g., DOORS, Primavera, MS Project). Key Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and cross-disciplinary coordination skills. Deep technical understanding of signaling and telecom systems. Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate interface-related risks proactively. High attention to detail with strong reporting and follow-through capabilities. Working Conditions: Based at the project office or site with frequent coordination across engineering and contractor teams. May require extended hours during integration, testing, and commissioning phases. Travel to OEM/vendor locations, labs, or remote project sites may be required. Job Purpose: The System Integration Manager is responsible for the successful integration of all systems and subsystems including Signaling (ETCS Level 2), Telecommunication, and Civil Works within large-scale railway, metro, or high-speed rail projects. This role ensures that technical interfaces across disciplines are clearly defined, coordinated, and implemented in accordance with project timelines, regulatory standards, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities: System Integration Leadership Oversee the end-to-end integration of all technical systems and subsystems across the project. Lead the coordination between Signaling (ETCS Level 2), Telecommunication, Civil, SCADA , and other related domains to ensure functional compatibility and seamless operation. Develop and manage the System Integration Plan , outlining timelines, interface responsibilities, resource needs, and verification milestones. Interface Management Define and manage technical interfaces among engineering teams, vendors, and contractors. Prepare and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) ensuring alignment with design and system performance requirements. Coordinate multi-disciplinary reviews and workshops to resolve interface issues during design and implementation. Technical Compliance & Risk Management Ensure all integrated systems meet technical specifications , project requirements, and applicable international standards (CENELEC EN 50126/8/9, IEC, IEEE). Identify integration risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the lifecycle of the project. Work closely with the Safety, RAMS, and Quality teams to ensure regulatory and operational compliance. System Testing & Validation Plan and oversee System Integration Testing (SIT) and System Acceptance Testing (SAT) to validate functionality and performance. Coordinate with vendors and site teams for testing execution, issue resolution, and certification. Stakeholder & Cross-Team Coordination Act as the main point of contact for system integration between engineering teams, client representatives, external partners, and third-party contractors . Participate in integration progress meetings, design reviews, and commissioning planning with internal and external stakeholders. Documentation & Reporting Ensure full documentation of all integration activities, including plans, interface agreements, test protocols, and acceptance records. Provide regular status reports to project leadership highlighting integration progress, risks, and key decisions. Support handover documentation and post-integration performance monitoring. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems, or Railway Engineering (Master’s preferred). 10–15+ years of experience in systems integration within Railway, Metro, or High-Speed Rail projects. Hands-on experience integrating systems involving ETCS Level 2 , interlocking, telecom, SCADA, and civil works. Proven track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects with multi-disciplinary coordination. Familiarity with V-cycle systems engineering processes and relevant tools (e.g., DOORS, Primavera, MS Project). Key Skills and Competencies: Strong technical understanding of rail systems architecture and ETCS L2 integration. Exceptional coordination, communication, and interface management skills. Proven experience in project management of complex technical systems involving ETCS L2, L1, CBTC, ERTMS, interlocking, SCADA, telecom infrastructure. Strong understanding of applicable international railway standards and protocols. Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage. Experience in working with multinational project teams and managing subcontractors and JV partners . Key Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and interfaces simultaneously. Proficient in MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent planning tools. Understanding of contractual frameworks (e.g., FIDIC) and risk management.
