Description
The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Controller team at Citi is a critical function within the Finance division responsible for overseeing, executing, preparing, analyzing, and submitting external ESG disclosures globally. This includes compliance with various regulatory frameworks such as EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive CSRD, EU Taxonomy, California climate disclosure rules (SB 253 and SB 261), and ISSB reporting requirements. Collaboration with key partners like the Sustainability & ESG office, Risk Management, Business Divisions, and Finance Controllers is crucial to ensure accurate and timely ESG disclosures. As an ESG Controller Lead Analyst at Citi, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering impactful ESG disclosures that highlight Citi's commitment to environmental, social, and governance excellence. This mid-to-senior level position offers the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated team of experts and enhance your expertise in ESG reporting. Reporting to the Report Production Lead, you will be responsible for structuring and creating key regulatory reports while ensuring alignment with evolving disclosure requirements. Key responsibilities of the role include spearheading strategic initiatives related to ESG reporting solutions, serving as a subject matter expert on ESG disclosure requirements, supporting governance committees in oversight, analyzing regulatory landscape, maintaining efficient reporting templates and processes, designing impactful reports, ensuring data integrity, managing external assurance providers, coordinating audits, and finalizing and submitting reports for approval. Ideal candidates for this role should possess exceptional analytical abilities, strong communication skills, in-depth knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and industry trends, specialized expertise in environmental and social topics, sound financial services acumen, proficient project and stakeholder management skills, and decisive leadership qualities. Proficiency in reporting tools like MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with tools like Workiva is advantageous. Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Environmental and Social Management/Sciences, along with certifications such as Sustainable Investing Certificate, CFA, ESG reporting and assurance fundamentals, AICPA & CIMA, and Sustainability and Climate Risk Certificate, GARP. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required.
