Roles & Responsibilities of an English Teacher Academic Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons (Grammar, Literature, Reading, Writing & Speaking).
• Teach according to the prescribed curriculum (CBSE / ICSE / IGCSE / IB as applicable).
• Develop students’ reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and creative writing skills.
• Encourage effective communication, public speaking, and confidence in English language usage.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.

Assessment & Evaluation

• Conduct regular tests, exams, and formative assessments.
• Evaluate students’ performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate academic records, grades, and progress reports.
• Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support where required.

Classroom Management

• Maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage student participation and critical thinking.
• Manage classroom behavior according to school policies.

Student Development

• Foster creativity through debates, storytelling, dramatics, poetry, and language activities.
• Support students’ emotional, social, and academic growth.
• Motivate students to develop a lifelong interest in reading and learning.

Co-Curricular Involvement

• Organize and participate in English-related activities such as:
• Debates
• Elocution
• Spell Bee
• Essay Writing
• Drama & Theatre
• Support school events, competitions, and assemblies.

Professional Responsibilities

• Attend staff meetings, training programs, workshops, and parent-teacher meetings.
• Collaborate with colleagues for curriculum planning and interdisciplinary activities.
• Stay updated with modern teaching methods and digital learning tools.
• Follow school policies, code of conduct, and professional ethics.

Parent & School Communication

• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
• Provide guidance to parents on improving English language skills at home.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
