English Teacher (Part-time)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time English Tutor to provide focused academic support to students. The tutor will be responsible for enhancing students' skills in various areas of English, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, literature analysis, and exam preparation. This position requires a commitment of two specified evenings per week, operating during peak tutoring hours.

• Days: Two days per week (to be determined upon hiring based on mutual discussion).
• Hours: 3:30 PM – 9:00 PM on both scheduled days (5.5 hours per session; 11 hours total per week).

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction: Deliver high-quality, one-on-one or small-group tutoring sessions in various English subjects.
• Assessment & Planning: Assess students' current skill levels, identify areas for improvement, and develop customised learning plans and materials to meet individual educational goals.
• Skill Development: Focus on developing students' fundamental skills, including:
• Grammar and Usage
• Vocabulary Expansion
• Critical Reading and Textual Analysis
• Composition and Essay Structure
• Progress Tracking: Monitor and document student progress, providing regular, constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.
• Curriculum Management: Maintain a current understanding of relevant English curricula and educational standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree in English, Literature, Education, Linguistics, or a related field. Previous experience tutoring or teaching English to various age groups is required.
• Skills: Exceptional knowledge of English language and literature; Strong ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively; Excellent patience, organisational skills, and interpersonal abilities; Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for the evening schedule.
