Engineering Manager - Java Technologies

As a seasoned professional with over 10 years of hands-on experience in software development, including 4+ years in a managerial role, you will lead and mentor a team of engineers to foster technical excellence and career growth. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the design, development, and deployment of scalable, high-performance applications using Java Spring Boot. You will be expected to architect cloud-based solutions utilizing AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and RDS. Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders, you will define technical requirements and project roadmaps. Driving best engineering practices, you will implement CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure as code (IaC) to ensure system reliability, security, and high availability following modern DevOps practices. Additionally, you will conduct code reviews, enforce high coding standards and best practices, and stay updated with emerging technologies, recommending their adoption where appropriate. Your role will involve fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. To excel in this role, you must demonstrate a strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. Expertise in AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and RDS is essential. Experience with system design, distributed computing, and cloud-native architectures is crucial. Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation is required. Moreover, familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes is beneficial. A strong understanding of RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, and messaging queues such as Kafka and RabbitMQ is preferred.
