Job Description

Job Overview: We are looking for an Engineering Manager to become a part of our team. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of 10-12 members. Your role will involve guiding and supervising the development efforts of the team, actively participating in the development process alongside the team. You will be tasked with coordinating, designing, and facilitating the implementation of projects in an efficient and cost-effective manner, ensuring the overall project delivery objectives are met in terms of scope, quality, budget, and timeline. Additionally, you will be accountable for planning, scheduling, and overseeing project activities, establishing project roles and responsibilities, defining tasks required for successful project milestones, and monitoring and reporting on quality and progress. Your responsibilities will also include coaching and driving the client and project team throughout the project life cycle, fostering team spirit and motivation, setting performance standards and expectations for team members, developing work methods to enhance team function and cohesiveness, and ensuring the team's training needs are addressed. You will also be responsible for reporting on budgets, forecasting figures, supporting the sales team in bids/tenders, and ensuring that project improvements feed back into the pre-sale process for efficient learning leverage. Moreover, you will contribute as a senior member of the Professional Services team to achieve excellence in all aspects of Service Delivery and undertake other Project Management duties as requested by your manager. Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should come from a Java background with experience in Java 8, Spring, and Spring Boot. They should have expertise in building distributed systems and microservices, along with a proven track record of working in Agile environments. A minimum of 2 years of managerial experience is required, along with techno-managerial experience and proficiency in Service Delivery. The candidate should have managed teams of at least 15-18 people and possess experience in stakeholder management, strategic planning, and project management practices, tools, and methodologies. Experience in the Utilities domain is advantageous, and cloud-native development experience would be a plus.
