Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead high performing engineering teams, promoting a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, setting benchmarks for technical skill and innovation.
• Be a key advocate for developer experience and have a keen interest in continually improving it.
• Encouraging a blameless culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Leading and influencing the technical design, architecture and development of digital projects.
• Work closely with other Engineering Managers, Engineering Leads and Product Managers to understand problems and define technical scope for global sports properties.
• Guide the integration of advanced data technologies, capitalizing on data visualization, machine learning, and digital marketing to enhance fan engagement and revenue growth.
• Oversee the software development lifecycle, endorsing best practices in release management, process automation, and source control.
• Provide expert technical consultancy to both internal and external stakeholders, driving technological solutions that bolster business growth and client satisfaction.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends, leveraging this knowledge to foster innovation and maintain competitive advantage.

Your Skills

Demonstrable leadership experience in software engineering, with a proven track record in developing impactful digital products and solutions.

Extensive knowledge of software development, the software development lifecycle and architecture, especially in the context of creating scalable and secure digital platforms.

Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a deep passion for technology and innovation.

Excellent communication abilities, capable of leading and inspiring teams, and engaging effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Technical expertise, including familiarity with modern programming languages such as TypeScript, React, Node.js and C# / .NET

You embrace modern DevOps and platform engineering culture. You don't just want your teams to write code, but you also like them to build and ship it utilising cloud platforms and services, such as Azure, AWS or GCP.(Any)

You have a high degree of expertise and experience in the understanding of CMS, Identity Solutions, Video, CRM, and e-commerce strategies.
