Engineering Lead

As an Engineering Lead in the Development team at Optum, a global organization under UnitedHealth Group, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of highly skilled software engineers focused on enhancing and supporting Human Capital software applications. Your role will involve strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and managing a team responsible for executing product development requirements on a daily basis. **Role Overview:** You will be tasked with coding, developing, and configuring robust, scalable solutions to meet customer needs and address user issues. Additionally, you will conceptualize integration solutions to enhance Human Capital integrations, support functional and technical testing, mentor junior developers, and provide technical leadership across projects. **Key Responsibilities:** - Code/develop/configure solutions to fulfill customer needs and resolve user issues - Conceptualize integration solutions for Human Capital integrations - Support functional and technical testing - Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership - Implement data transmission solutions using modern technologies including APIs - Analyze data using SQL queries - Ensure high-quality solutions using modern software engineering practices - Incorporate non-functional requirements like performance and availability into solutions - Create reusable, shared code - Focus on improving agile development metrics - Develop integrations across multiple technologies - Implement strategies to embed quality practices - Identify defect root causes and drive resolution - Drive code reuse and minimize redundant development - Work within an agile development framework - Approach the role with a learning mindset - Utilize AI capabilities within Oracle HCM Cloud **Qualifications Required:** - Must have a full-time Graduation Degree - 7+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle HCM development using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) - 7+ years of PL/SQL development experience - 7+ years of experience with BI Publisher (BIP) and Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) - 7+ years of hands-on SQL development experience - Sound knowledge in developing and consuming APIs (SOAP, REST) - 5+ years of experience delivering products within an Agile development framework - Experience with data integration technologies and tools - Expertise in Oracle HCM Cloud modules and architecture - Understanding of data modeling, performance tuning, and debugging **Soft Skills:** - Strong communication and collaboration skills - Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions - Problem-solving and analytical thinking By joining Optum, you will have the opportunity to work in a culture guided by inclusion, surrounded by talented peers, and with comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities.
