Engineering / Design Manager - Drillmec International

We are seeking an experienced Engineering/Design Manager to lead the planning and execution of Oil and Gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing project engineering activities, managing resources, and ensuring timely delivery of technical specifications and drawings. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Execution:

- Perform leadership role in planning and executing current and future Oil and Gas projects.

- Organize project engineering activities and manage assigned resources (Engineers, Vendors, Subcontractors, etc.).

2. Technical Deliverables:

- Ensure timely delivery of technical specifications, drawings, calculations, and other engineering documents.

- Obtain timely approval of technical deliverables from clients and statutory bodies.

3. Scope of Work and Scheduling:

- Prepare detailed engineering scope of work for entire projects.

- Coordinate preparation of detailed schedules and manpower plans for engineering activities.

4. Risk Management:

- Identify issues and risks related to engineering deliverables and implement mitigation actions.

5. Implementation of Engineering Directions:

- Implement various engineering directions issued by Top management, including those discussed during Production review meetings.

6. Coordination and Communication:

- Coordinate monthly meetings between parent company, project department, manufacturing, QC, vendors, and rig sites for engineering-related queries.

- Coordinate with API Consultant, various departments, and engineering for API Certifications and closure of NCs.

7. System Implementation and Support:

- Provide engineering support for implementation of new systems (e.g., Streamliner, PwC_SAP, Windchill, Design Portal).

8. Team Management:

- Monitor output of design team and outsourcing agency for efficiency, productivity, and accuracy.

9. Reporting and Communication:

- Regularly inform Vice President (Technical) and Project Management team on project engineering performance and status.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (relevant discipline)

- Proven experience in Oil and Gas industry, preferably in a similar role

- Strong leadership and project management skills

- Excellent communication and coordination skills

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

- Exposure to rig-related activities is an advantage
