GE Vernova The GSI Service unit of Grid Solutions is currently seeking a Engineer Service -Engineering,
The role is part of GE grid system Integration for Service Projects (Refurbishment, Extension, System Upgrade for HV AC& DC substation, projects) based at Noida. It is to support GSI Service business by carrying out design and engineering for the tender & projects.Within this cross-centres and multicultural organization, the engineer is responsible to design of substation & optimization of engineering quantities and other technical activities that integrate all the required equipment considering their installation, operation, and maintenance constraints. He reports directly to engineering leader.

Job Description

General responsibilities:

• Execute & analyse, design, test, or integrate required to define and support systems that meet business standards and project requirements.
• Full ownership to independently support stakeholders / customers in form of project management of tender / project engineering, to be done.
• Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers for necessary approvals.
• Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business.
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

Specific Role Requirements:

• Carry out project engineering related to projects (AC substation AIS/GIS bay extension, renovation & modernization of switchyard equipment / systems, Refurbishment of HVDC/FACTS Projects etc.)
• Engineering would include primary as well as secondary electrical systems engineering.
• Reverse engineering related to brown filled projects.
• Engineering & design has to be carried out according to international standards (as applicable in the country of destination of the project), apart from following Indian standards for local projects.
• Preparation of basic Single Line Diagram, Layout, Plan & section of Overall plant, Substation and control room arrangement, Earthing & cabling layouts etc
• HV Equipment selection & sizing / Design of Earthing system / Cable system / Bus Bar Sizing / DSLP / Sag Tension calculation / Short-circuit force calculation / LT auxiliary system / Battery and charger Sizing / Illumination system and schedule as per IS/IEEE/IEC.
• RFQ / Technical Validation / Evaluation of vendor Drawings & Documents
• LV / MV Panel Engineering
• components, selection of equipment with best pricing options.
• Co-ordination and integration with Automation, Civil ,MEP & Execution Team.
• Flexible and quick to learn global developments in renewable technologies and adopt.
• Knowhow of IS / IEC codes, safety in design/EHS aspects, AC substation industry engineering practices.
• Knowledge of Control & Protective Relaying and automation systems used in switchyards and MV/LV power distribution systems.
• Understanding of Control & Protection schemes / Interlocking logics / SAS / DCS
• HVDC/FACTS integrated project applications.
• Working experience with 3D Design Tools.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, from an accredited college or university with a minimum 5-8 years of experience on project engineering. Strong understanding of Power System Engineering.

• Proficient in use of MS Office / well worse with MS excel tools.

• Exposure to QMS driven engineering processes.
