Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation & Analysis

• Estimate product/component costs based on technical drawings, material specs, and processing requirements.
  
• Perform cost comparison across suppliers for benchmarking and validation.
  
• Conduct should-cost analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  

2. Sheet Metal Part Costing

• Evaluate costs for sheet metal components including blanking, bending, welding, surface treatment, etc.
  
• Understand and calculate costs for various operations (laser cutting, punching, fabrication, etc.).
  
• Work closely with suppliers for technical costing discussions.
  

3. Nesting & Material Utilization

• Use nesting software to optimize sheet usage and reduce material scrap.
  
• Analyze material yield and propose cost reduction through nesting improvements.
  

4. Bill of Material (BOM) Analysis

• Study customer BOMs and prepare internal costing BOMs accordingly.
  
• Cross-check BOMs for quantity accuracy and raw material requirements.
  

5. Drawing Interpretation & CAD

• Interpret technical drawings to identify key cost-influencing parameters.
  
• Use AutoCAD and similar tools to validate part dimensions and support costing.
  

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Liaise with Design, Production, and Quality teams for feasibility and manufacturability analysis.
  
• Coordinate with the procurement team for sourcing cost validation.
  

Key Skills Required:

• Expertise in

  Cost Estimation & Analysis

  for sheet metal parts
• Knowledge of

  Nesting software

  (like SigmaNEST, Lantek, etc.)
• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD / SolidWorks

  for reading and interpreting drawings
• Strong understanding of

  BOM structures

  and component breakdown
• Familiarity with

  Sheet Metal Processes

  : punching, laser cutting, bending, welding, etc.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy
  
• Good communication and negotiation support skills
