Engineer III, Systems Infrastructure

As a member of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team in Bangalore, India, you will be part of a dynamic group dedicated to ensuring the protection and availability of our business-critical data. Your role will involve working with various backup technologies in a multi-site multi-vendor environment, participating in recovery testing, and ensuring effective governance and compliance through audit processes. Additionally, you will provide on-call support and work closely with the customer support team to resolve issues promptly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: - Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of various backup technologies. - Participate in recovery testing to ensure applications and databases can be restored from backups. - Assist in audit processes to ensure governance and compliance. - Provide on-call support within a follow-the-sun model and weekend rotation. - Collaborate with the customer support team to communicate outage causes and resolutions. - Resolve incidents and problems according to guidelines and operational agreements. - Implement change requests and meet project deliverables. - Document processes and maintain a knowledge base for Data Protection. Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 2-4 years of higher education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 5-10 years of experience with technologies such as Veeam, with additional experience in data protection hardware/software being a plus. - Familiarity with Hypervisors, Windows & Linux operating systems, Cloud Infrastructure, and ServiceNOW. - Knowledge of IT processes and best practices related to backup, recovery, and disaster recovery. - Experience in regulated environments and AI is advantageous. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
