Engineer III, Systems Infrastructure

As a member of Thermo Fisher Scientific's Corporate Infrastructure and Security team based in Bangalore, India, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the protection and availability of business-critical data. Your responsibilities will include installing, configuring, monitoring, and documenting various backup technologies across multiple sites and vendors. You will actively participate in recovery testing, audit processes, and on-call support, following a "follow the sun" model and weekend rotation. Collaboration with the customer support team will be essential as you communicate outage root causes, durations, and recommendations for issue resolution. Adhering to operational guidelines, you will resolve incidents and problems, implement change requests, and meet project deliverables while striving to achieve Service Level commitments for open systems platforms. Additionally, you will document processes and maintain a knowledge base for Data Protection. To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of 2-4 years of higher education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with 5-10 years of experience in data protection technologies, particularly Veeam. Familiarity with other data protection hardware/software such as Avamar, Data Domain, or Druva is advantageous. Your expertise should extend to Hypervisors, Windows & Linux operating systems, Cloud Infrastructure, and ServiceNOW, as well as IT processes related to backup, recovery, and disaster recovery. Experience in highly regulated environments and AI would be beneficial, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
