In this role as a Technical-Specialist Big Data (PySpark) Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and unit testing software applications in an Agile development environment. You are expected to ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable, scalable, and high-performing software applications to users. Coming from a strong technological background, you should have good working experience in Python and Spark technology, and be able to work independently with minimal guidance while also mentoring junior resources in the team. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and discuss solutions for user stories and tasks. - Develop, unit-test, integrate, deploy, maintain, and improve software. - Perform peer code review. - Actively participate in sprint activities and ceremonies. - Apply continuous integration best practices. - Collaborate with team members to achieve Sprint objectives. - Report progress using Agile team management tools. - Manage individual task priorities and deliverables. - Ensure quality of solutions provided. - Contribute to planning and continuous improvement activities. **Skills And Experience:** - Minimum 5 years of development experience in Big Data platform. - Hands-on experience in Spark (Hive, Impala) and Python. - Preferably experience in BigQuery, Dataproc, Composer, Terraform, GKE, Cloud SQL, and Cloud functions. - Experience in continuous build/integration infrastructure setup and maintenance. - Knowledge of development platforms and DevOps tools. - Strong analytical and communication skills. - Proficiency in English. - Ability to work in virtual teams and matrixed organizations. - Excellent team player with a willingness to learn and keep pace with technical innovation. - Understanding of core SDLC processes and tools.
