Description
As a BASIS Administrator at Comcast, you will be responsible for providing support for daily operations across the SAP Estate, overseeing and being accountable for relevant global incident/event/request queues. You will play a crucial role in critical incident response, ensuring proper assessment, troubleshooting, escalation, and engagement of resources across all teams, leading incident resolution and service restoration. Your willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with project teams globally will be essential. - Provide hands-on leadership and administration of SAP Basis for SAP ERP, SAP Netweaver, SAP Enterprise Portal, SAP Solution Manager, and SAP Web Dispatcher. - Oversee administration, installation, patching, and upgrades. - Offer level 2 and 3 support for team members. - Perform SAP system copy: homogeneous and heterogeneous migration. - Execute SAP client copy: export and import as needed. - Configure and manage the SAP Transport Management System, including transport migration. - Apply SAP enhancement packages, upgrades, add-ons, and add-on upgrades. - Review SAP security note releases, guide the team in testing and application. - Apply SAP OSS notes. - Establish system monitoring alerts and thresholds. - Implement system performance tuning improvements. - Manage and tune the SAP database environment, including monitoring indexes and table spaces. - Conduct SAP Kernel upgrades. - Maintain and configure the SAP GUI. - Implement and maintain the SAP Fiori environment. - Investigate, resolve, and document solutions for database problems. - Monitor scheduled server backup jobs. - Provide leadership in troubleshooting and system performance initiatives. - Strong understanding of system administration and development life cycle methodologies. - Knowledge of SAP Basis administration. - Familiarity with RHEL/Oracle Linux/SUSE Linux Server operating system. - Understanding of database administration. - Knowledge of High-Availability, Disaster-Recovery, and SAP technology. - Leadership and coaching skills. - Ability to ensure a collaborative working environment. - Solid interpersonal, oral communication, and written communication skills. - Strong organizational skills. - Strong initiative, self-reliance, and ability to cope with ambiguity. - Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch focus quickly. - Logical thinking and attention to detail. - Skill in innovative problem-solving and analysis. - Ability to work as a team player with a positive demeanor. - Readiness to work outside normal business hours in response to high-priority issues. - Proficiency in English. - Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of Business and IT. - Self-starter with a desire to learn and expand knowledge. - Strong adherence to IT/SAP project methodologies and change control processes. Qualifications include a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, with 5+ years of SAP Basis administration experience in a large-scale enterprise, including supervisory/management experience.,
