Job Description

As an Embedded IoT QA Engineer (Manual Testing) at our company in Thaltej, Ahmedabad, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and robust IoT products. Your key responsibilities will include: - Test Planning & Documentation: - Understand product requirements and create detailed test plans, scenarios, and cases. - Document test results, report bugs, and maintain QA documentation. - Manual Testing Execution: - Perform end-to-end testing of embedded IoT systems including hardware, firmware, mobile apps, and cloud. - Validate firmware functionality, communication protocols, and hardware interfaces. - Test sensor integration, device status indicators, and power management features. - Communication & Protocol Testing: - Validate device connectivity and communication protocols like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, etc. - Perform range, latency, packet loss, and reconnection tests. - Mobile & Cloud Integration Testing: - Test interaction between devices and mobile apps, data transmission to backend platforms. - Use tools like API validation on swagger. - Issue Reporting & Collaboration: - Log detailed defects with logs and reproduction steps in JIRA. - Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues. - Test Lab Management: - Set up and maintain test environments, perform testing on multiple hardware revisions and firmware versions. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors or Diploma in Electronics and Communication. - 2-3 years of experience in manual QA testing of embedded systems/IoT products. - Strong understanding of embedded hardware, firmware, and microcontroller-based systems. - Experience in mobile app and cloud interaction testing. - Proficient in using tools like Docklight, Putty, Swagger, JIRA, etc. Preferred Qualifications: - Exposure to test automation frameworks like Python or Robot Framework. - Experience with Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware upgrade testing. - Knowledge of compliance testing (EMI/EMC, CE, FCC). - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
