MGRID Tools is building next-generation laser and distance measurement devices for the Indian construction industry. We are developing our own electronic products in-house and are looking for a hands-on engineer who can own the complete embedded product development lifecycle.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for end-to-end development of electronic products including hardware design, firmware development, system integration, testing, and production support for laser distance meters and line laser devices.

This is a core R&D role not documentation, not supervision you will actually build the product.

Key Responsibilities

Electronics Hardware

• Design complete electronic circuits for distance meters & laser tools
• Select MCU, sensors, laser drivers, power ICs, display & battery systems
• Create schematics & multi-layer PCB layouts
• Debug hardware issues & perform board bring-up
• Optimise BOM for mass production

Firmware / Embedded Software

• Develop firmware in Embedded C / C++
• Interface with sensors, displays, buttons, memory, and communication modules
• Implement measurement logic, averaging, error filtering & calibration routines
• Power management, sleep modes & battery optimisation
• Production firmware & factory calibration support

Product Integration

• Work closely with mechanical & industrial designers for internal fitment
• Ensure optical-electronic alignment feasibility
• Support environmental, drop & reliability testing
• Assist vendor during pilot production

Testing & Validation

• Accuracy validation & repeatability testing
• RF/EMI issue resolution
• Field testing with real construction users
• Debug production-level failures

Technical Skills Required

• Circuit Design & PCB Layout (Altium / KiCad / EasyEDA)
• Embedded C / C++
• MCU Platforms (STM32 / ESP32 / NXP / Microchip etc.)
• I2C, SPI, UART, ADC, Timers
• Battery Management & Low-Power Design
• Debugging tools (Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope, JTAG)
