Job Description Medical Coding Specialist (Multispecialty)

Location:

Role Overview

Medical Coding Specialist

Key Responsibilities

Perform
Outpatient (OP) Multispecialty coding
with precision and compliance.
Handle
Evaluation & Management (EM) coding
for both
Inpatient (IP) and Outpatient (OP)
encounters.
Execute
Emergency Department (ED) Profee and Facility coding
assignments.
Ensure compliance with
ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS
guidelines and payer-specific requirements.
Conduct
quality checks and audits (QCA)
to maintain coding accuracy and minimize denials.
Collaborate with physicians, auditors, and billing teams to resolve discrepancies.
Stay updated with
coding regulations, payer policies, and industry best practices
.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Certification:
AHIMA (CCS, RHIA, RHIT) or AAPC (CPC, COC, CIC) – Mandatory.
Experience:
Minimum 3+ years in medical coding or QCA, with exposure to multispecialty OP, EM IP/OP, and ED Profee/Facility.
Strong knowledge of
medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
.
Proficiency in
coding software, EMR/EHR systems, and MS Office tools
.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and in team settings.
