Job Description

Job Summary: The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment in accordance with relevant Indian electrical standards (e.g., IE Rules) and safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, wiring diagrams, and safety procedures, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team across various electrical tasks. Responsibilities: Electrical Installations: Install, modify, and connect electrical wiring, conduits, fixtures, control panels, switchgear, and other electrical equipment according to blueprints, specifications, and adherence to the latest Indian Electrical Rules (IE Rules) and local building codes. Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Diagnose electrical faults, malfunctions, and breakdowns using testing devices (e.g., multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers) and implement effective repairs. Troubleshooting: Systematically identify and troubleshoot complex electrical problems, including short circuits, open circuits, faulty components, power surges, and equipment failures. Wiring and Termination: Execute precise wiring, cabling, and termination of electrical components in control panels, motor starters, lighting circuits, and power distribution boards. Safety Compliance & LOTO: Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and company policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols. Promote and ensure a safe working environment, utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Blueprint and Schematic Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams (SLDs), and schematics to plan and execute work. Testing and Inspection: Conduct thorough testing of electrical systems and components after installation or repair to ensure proper functionality, continuity, insulation, and safety before energization. Perform regular inspections to identify potential hazards or code violations. Power Distribution Systems: Work on various power distribution systems, including main panels, sub-panels, transformers, and circuit breakers, ensuring stable and reliable power supply. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, power outages, and critical breakdowns, performing necessary repairs to restore operations and ensure safety. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, electrical system modifications, and any significant issues encountered or resolved. Material Management: Assist in estimating material requirements, managing electrical inventory, and ensuring availability of necessary tools and spare parts. Collaboration: Work effectively and coordinate with engineers, other technicians, production teams, and external contractors to ensure smooth project execution and maintenance activities. Continuous Improvement: Participate in training programs and stay updated with new electrical technologies, equipment, and revised Indian electrical standards.
