Job summary:

Roles and responsibilities:

• Logbook Maintenance:

  Maintain the EB (Electricity Board) and DG (Diesel Generator) logbooks and report any observed abnormalities to the concerned in-charge.

• Substation and Breaker Operations:

  Perform the operation and maintenance of the substation, transformer, and HT/LT (High Tension/Low Tension) breakers.

• Panel and Distribution Maintenance:

  Manage the operation and maintenance of all Power Control Center (PCC), Motor Control Center (MCC), and Distribution Board (DB) panels.

• DG Set Management:

  Operate and monitor DG sets during power failures and perform preventive maintenance (A-check) as per the maintenance schedule.

• Vendor Coordination:

  Coordinate with Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) personnel for DG set maintenance according to the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manual.

• Contractor Coordination:

  Coordinate with external contractors for the annual maintenance of transformers and HT/LT breakers.

• Statutory Compliance:

  Collaborate with the in-house team on all TNEB (Tamil Nadu Electricity Board) statutory and licensing activities.

• Maintenance Execution:

  Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance for the entire electrical distribution system.

• Troubleshooting:

  Perform electrical maintenance and troubleshooting for all electrical equipment.

• Energy Monitoring:

  Monitor overall energy consumption daily and report any abnormalities to the respective in-charge.

• Factory Lighting:

  Oversee the replacement and maintenance of the factory's lighting systems.

• UPS and Battery Management:

  Record and monitor Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) parameters round-the-clock. Perform monthly battery condition checks and coordinate replacements as needed.

• Earth Pit Maintenance:

  Maintain the specified earth resistance value for all earth pits at regular intervals.

• Wiring Activities:

  Execute minor electrical wiring renovations or new cable laying activities.

• Licensing:

  Ensure all electrical technicians working under you possess a valid TNEB License.

Key skills and qualifications:

• Educational Background:

  ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

• Experience:

  1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance.

• Technical Skills:

  Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment, including DG sets, transformers, substations, and electrical panels.

• Safety Compliance:

  Familiarity with safety standards and electrical codes.

• Communication:

  Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.

• Licensing:

  Must possess a valid TNEB License.
